Jackson Recovery Centers knows all about substance abuse and addiction. In 1977, we became the first facility in Iowa and one of the first in the nation to treat chemically dependent children and their families. In 1989, we merged with the former Siouxland Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (SCADA) and St. Luke's Addiction Center to offer a full continuum of services to adults. And, in 1995, we acquired the former Midwest Iowa Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center (MIADAC) to provide treatment to residents in neighboring counties. Annually, Jackson Recovery Centers provides treatment to more than 2,000 individuals and their families through some 23,000 outpatient client visits, 26,000 hours of group therapy, 7,000 hours of individual therapy and 20,000 days in residential services. Approximately 18,000 people attend our prevention/education programs and workshops each year. We believe education is the key, prevention is the goal, recovery is the process -- a process enhancing personal, emotional, physical and spiritual growth.
