WOMEN & CHILDREN'S CENTER

It is estimated there are 7.5 million women alcoholics in the United States alone. That number equals the total population of Maine, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, New Mexico and Utah.

At Jackson Recovery Centers, we recognized this large number of chemically-dependent women deserved a recovery program specifically addressed to their needs. In 1995, we established the Women and Children’s Center to help these women find the help, hope and healing they desperately needed.

The Women and Children's Center is a freestanding residential facility located in a peaceful park-like setting. This program treats substance abuse and addiction in pregnant women and women with children. It features primary treatment and rehabilitative services for both women and their children. Treatment includes addressing the woman's medical, behavioral, psychological and spiritual needs while promoting abstinence and 12-step program participation.

Treatment focuses on:

  • interrupting the process of addiction
  • reestablishing healthy family relationships and family values
  • developing parenting skills
  • improving physical health care
  • understanding good nutrition
  • learning how to budget
  • improving social skills
  • using community resources benefiting the family

Our professionally-trained staff consists of a clinical manager, registered nurses, addictions therapists, social workers and technicians. This team works closely with physicians, the psychology staff, dietitians, a recreational therapist and other resources to ensure the best possible treatment for the mother and her children.

Upon completion of inpatient treatment, we provide continuing care services to help each woman gain and maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle. Continuing care services may include subsidized housing; in-home therapy and skill building; individual, group and family therapy; employment counseling and other support services.

Many health insurance plans cover the cost of treatment. Financial arrangements and assistance are available for qualified individuals.
